The Legend of Arcania

Before existence, there was only the Void-and from it, everything was born.

Before time had meaning, before stars burned in the heavens, there was only the Void Titan-an unfathomable being larger than the universe itself, embodying infinite stillness and emptiness. For countless eons, it drifted in perfect solitude, until curiosity stirred within its boundless form.

The Primordial Age

The Birth of Ambition

From its own essence, the Void Titan created the Dark Titan-a child born of ambition and tangible matter. Where the father was stillness, the son was movement. Where the father was emptiness, the son was hunger.

Note

The Dark Titan represents creation's double-edged nature: the drive to grow and expand, but also the insatiable hunger that can consume all it touches.

As the Dark Titan grew, so did its ambition. It expanded endlessly, driven by a desire to surpass its creator. When its size rivaled that of the Void Titan, tension arose. Father and son clashed in a catastrophic event known as The Anguish.

The Anguish

The Anguish tore apart the fabric of the void, birthing the visible universe:

  • Stars ignited from the Dark Titan's strikes
  • Black holes churned from the Void Titan's consuming wrath
  • Celestial bodies formed in the fires of their battle
  • Reality itself was shaped from nothingness

In their final clash, both Titans annihilated each other, their essences scattered across the cosmos. But from the cold detachment of their destruction came something new.

The First Law of Arcania

From destruction comes creation. From chaos comes order. From death comes life.

The Divine Age

Marael, the Celestial God

Born amidst the wreckage of The Anguish, Marael emerged-a being of balance and purpose. He was alone in the vastness of creation, compelled to bring structure to chaos.

For millennia, Marael wandered the cosmos, shaping the laws of the universe and stabilizing the celestial bodies. Yet despite his work, he felt no fulfillment. The silence of the void weighed upon him.

Anias, the Eternal Light

In the farthest reaches of the cosmos, Marael discovered something astonishing: a world teeming with vibrant life, and at its center, Anias-the Eternal Light.

Born from the Echoes of Regret (the sorrow and guilt of the Titans' annihilation), Anias existed in deep slumber, unconsciously radiating life-giving energy. She was creation without intention, beauty without awareness.

When Marael touched her, the universe trembled. Anias's eyes opened for the first time.

Tip

The meeting of Marael and Anias represents the union of Order and Life-two forces that together could shape a perfect world, or tear it apart.

The Divine Children

From their union came two children of immeasurable power:

The Golden Age

The Founding of Arcania

Anias, ever compassionate, could not remain detached from mortal suffering. Against Marael's warnings, she proposed a radical idea:

"Let us create a land where knowledge flows freely, where divine and mortal coexist. Let us call it Arcania-The Land of Magic."

Marael agreed, but with one unbreakable law:

"The Sacred Knowledge of Divine Power must remain unsharable. Mortals are not ready to wield it. Should they betray this trust, I will bring ruin to what you build."

The gods descended to walk among mortals. Arcania flourished-a golden age of peace, learning, and harmony. For the first time, the divine children experienced friendship, emotion, and love.

Love and Betrayal

Erion fell in love with Nimue, daughter of a blacksmith. Their bond was pure and unshakable.

Alassa fell in love with Cassian, a mortal general. But he betrayed her, and in her wrath, she tore his heart from his chest-cursing him to feel nothing. This act hardened her own heart forever.

The Duskfall

The Murder of Light

Nimue, consumed by fear of her own mortality, was manipulated by Mildor, a bitter oracle. He whispered of a forbidden ritual: slay a goddess with a sacred weapon, and inherit her immortality.

On the eve of her wedding to Erion, Nimue crept into Anias's chambers with Arcblade-and plunged it into the goddess's heart.

Warning

The death of Anias shattered the Golden Age. Her light faded from the world, and with it, the hope of divine-mortal harmony.

The Spark of Light

In her final moments, Anias forgave Nimue and gave Erion her last gift: the Spark of Light-the very first light she ever created, the essence of her being.

"This light belongs to you now. Protect this land, my son. Protect my dream."

With those words, Anias dissolved into light, witnessed by mortals and gods alike.

The Abyssal Age

Marael's Wrath

Grief twisted Marael into something unrecognizable. He declared war upon Arcania-the very land his beloved had built.

He transformed his daughter Alassa into The Dread Emissary and gave her the Anguish Stone-an artifact containing the primordial wrath of the Titans themselves. With it, she commands an army of nightmares, creatures born from the Dark Titan's lingering hatred.

The War for Arcania

For two centuries, war has raged across Arcania. But the tide has begun to shift. Marael, seeing the Dark Titan's influence consuming his daughter, defected from his own war of vengeance to join the resistance.

  • Erion leads the Grand Alliance from Valoryn, wielding the Spark of Light
  • Marael now fights alongside his son, providing cosmic knowledge and strategy
  • Alassa commands the Dominion forces from the Throne of Ruin, wielding the Anguish Stone
  • Nimue wanders in exile, cursed with immortality for her crime

The Current Age

Players enter Arcania during this time of war. The choices they make will determine whether Anias's dream survives-or whether darkness consumes all.
