The Five Dominions
War-scarred territories ruled by Alassa's generals, standing between Valoryn and the Throne of Ruin.
"Beyond our walls lie five hells, each ruled by a nightmare. To reach my sister, we must break through them all. There is no shortcut. There is no easy path. There is only forward."
Erion, Last of the Gods
The Five Dominions are corrupted territories that stand between the free lands and Alassa's palace-the fallen Eterna Citadel, now called the Throne of Ruin. Each dominion is ruled by a general shaped by the
Anguish Stone's power, and each presents unique challenges to the resistance.

The Path to the Throne
Valoryn → Dreadmar Frontier → Mire of Whispers → Stonegrave Expanse → Eclipse Barrens → Hall of Fallen → Throne of Ruin
Each dominion must be conquered in sequence. The generals are bound to their territories-they cannot be bypassed, only defeated.
The Nature of Corruption
The
Anguish Stone-forged from the essence of the Titans' clash-allows Alassa to create and control creatures of immense power. Each general was shaped differently:
Warning
The dominion generals are not simply powerful enemies. They were created, transformed, or corrupted by the
Anguish Stone's power. Understanding their origins is key to defeating them.
| General | Origin | Transformation |
|---|---|---|
| Vharun | Guardian spirit | Emptied of self, filled with resentment |
| Saelistra | Healer | Grief twisted into madness |
| Kharagul | Primordial being | Drawn from the Anguish itself |
| Morgathis | Avatar | Carved from ruin by titan energy |
| Cassian | Mortal man | Hollowed by Alassa, filled by the Stone |
Strategic Importance
Each dominion serves a purpose beyond simply blocking the path:
- Dreadmar Frontier - Tests raw combat ability and survival skills
- Mire of Whispers - Tests mental fortitude and party cohesion
- Stonegrave Expanse - Tests tactical coordination and resource management
- Eclipse Barrens - Tests faith and willpower against despair
- Hall of Fallen - Tests everything, including the meaning of victory
The Campaign
The war effort from Valoryn has pushed through different dominions at different times:
| Attribute | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Century 1 | Loss | Dreadmar Frontier remained unconquered; forces scattered |
| Century 2 | Stalemate | Multiple pushes, multiple retreats; lines stabilized |
| Current Era | Advance | Marael's alliance enabled breakthrough; all dominions contested |
Note
With Marael now allied with Erion, the balance has shifted. For the first time in two centuries, there is genuine hope of reaching the Throne of Ruin.
What Lies Beyond
Past the Hall of Fallen stands Alassa's palace-the Eterna Citadel transformed into the Throne of Ruin. Within, Alassa waits with the
Anguish Stone, her connection to the Dark Titan growing stronger with each passing year.
The final confrontation approaches. But first, five generals must fall.
