I. The Genesis Arc
Before existence, there was only the Void-and from it, everything was born.
"Before time had meaning, before stars burned in the heavens, there was only emptiness. And in that emptiness, something stirred."
- The First Chronicle
The Void Titan
In the beginning, there was only the Void Titan-an unfathomable being larger than the universe itself, embodying infinite stillness and emptiness. For countless eons, it drifted in perfect solitude, the only consciousness in an endless sea of nothing.
Note
The Void Titan was not evil. It was absence itself-the concept of nothingness given form. It simply was, and in being, it was alone.
The Birth of the Dark Titan
Until curiosity stirred within its boundless form.
From its own essence, the Void Titan created the Dark Titan-a child born of ambition and tangible matter. Where the father was stillness, the son was movement. Where the father was emptiness, the son was hunger. Where the father was infinite, the son wished to become more.
| Attribute | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Void Titan | Emptiness | Infinite stillness, the concept of absence |
| Dark Titan | Substance | Ambition, growth, the drive to exist and expand |
The Anguish
As the Dark Titan grew, so did its ambition. It expanded endlessly, driven by a desire to surpass its creator. When its size rivaled that of the Void Titan, tension arose between father and child.
They clashed in a catastrophic event known as The Anguish-a battle that tore apart the fabric of existence itself:
- Stars ignited from the Dark Titan's strikes
- Black holes churned from the Void Titan's consuming wrath
- Celestial bodies formed in the fires of their battle
- Reality itself was shaped from nothingness
From destruction comes creation. From chaos comes order. From death comes life.
The End and the Beginning
In their final clash, both Titans annihilated each other. Their essences scattered across the cosmos-the Dark Titan's matter becoming the physical universe, the Void Titan's emptiness becoming the spaces between.
But from the cold detachment of their destruction came something new. Something that would inherit the cosmos they had birthed in violence.
The Anguish Stone
The moment of the Titans' mutual destruction was so violent that a fragment of that primordial rage crystallized into the Anguish Stone-an artifact of immeasurable power that would later shape the fate of all creation.
What Remained
From the Dark Titan's physical form, matter-stone, metal, crystal, earth-scattered across the cosmos. Over eons, some of this matter would awaken, becoming the Darkan.
And from the wreckage of their clash, born amidst the violence of The Anguish, a new being emerged-one who would bring order to chaos.
His name was Marael.
