Party System

Group mechanics, experience bonuses, and cooperative gameplay in Arcania.

The war against the Dominion cannot be won alone. Arcania's party system allows adventurers to band together, combining their strengths to tackle challenges that would overwhelm any solo fighter.

Party Size & Experience Bonuses

Larger parties earn bonus experience on all kills. This bonus applies to each party member individually.

Party SizeXP BonusTotal Party XP
Solo0%100%
2 members+10%220% (110% each)
3 members+20%360% (120% each)
4 members+30%520% (130% each)
5 members+40%700% (140% each)

Tip

A full party of 5 members earns 40% more XP per person than solo players. Group up whenever possible for faster leveling.

Level Restrictions

Party members must be within 10 levels of each other to receive experience from kills.

ScenarioResult
Level 20 + Level 25Both receive XP (5 level difference)
Level 20 + Level 30Both receive XP (10 level difference)
Level 20 + Level 31Level 31 receives no XP (11 level difference)

Warning

If you're outside the level range, you won't receive experience even if you contribute to the kill. The party bonus still applies to eligible members.

Loot Distribution

Arcania uses a free-for-all loot system. When enemies drop items, any party member can pick them up.

How It Works

  • Drops appear on the ground for all party members to see
  • First player to pick up an item claims it
  • No automatic distribution or rolling system
  • Party members should communicate about valuable drops

Note

Coordinate with your party on loot priorities before entering difficult content. Many groups designate drops based on class or need.

Party Roles

Effective parties balance three core roles:

Tank

Draws enemy attention and absorbs damage.

Healer

Keeps the party alive through sustained healing.

Damage Dealer (DPS)

Eliminates enemies as quickly as possible.

ContentSuggested Party
General Farming2-3 Warrior/Mage/Ranger for speed
Elite Creatures1 Paladin + 1 Cleric + Warrior/Mage/Ranger
Area Bosses1 Paladin + 1 Cleric + 3 Warrior/Mage/Ranger
Dominion Bosses1 Paladin + 1-2 Clerics + 2-3 Warrior/Mage/Ranger

Tip

For Dominion Boss encounters, consider bringing two Clerics. The sustained healing requirement often exceeds what a single Cleric can provide.

Party Tips

  • Stay together - XP only counts if you're in range of the kill
  • Balance roles - A party of 5 Mages/Rangers/Warriors will struggle against bosses
  • Know your role - Paladins/Warriors should lead, Clerics should stay safe, Mages/Rangers should focus targets
