Luminar - Fragments of the First Light
Living shards of Anias's radiance, they carry her conscious light within their very souls.
Luminar
Fragments of the First Light
When Anias awakened and became conscious, her first intentional act was creation. The Luminar were born from her deliberate radiance-not dreams, not accidents, but willed into existence as extensions of her divine light. Their homeland is Lumeria, the sanctuary where the Eternal Light burns brightest.

Children of Conscious Light
"We are not merely blessed by Anias. We are Anias-fragments of her awareness given form. When she died, we felt it. A part of us died too. But her light... her light lives on in every Luminar soul."
High Seraph Aurelia
Before Anias, there was only her dreaming-the First World, created unconsciously while she slumbered. But when Marael woke her, she chose to create. Her first conscious children were the Luminar: beings of pure, intentional light.
Unlike the Darkan (born from Titan remnants) or humans (created without cosmic essence), Luminar are direct extensions of Anias's consciousness. They didn't just receive her blessing-they carry pieces of her awareness within their souls.
Note
This is why Luminar are naturally resistant to magic and excel at holy power. Their very existence is divine. The Anguish-born from Titans-is fundamentally alien to them.
The Burden of Light
Being Anias's children brings both power and pain:
- Divine Resonance - Natural connection to holy magic and the Eternal Light
- The Mother's Death - When Anias died, every Luminar felt it. Some went mad. Some fell into despair.
- The Spark Connection - Luminar can receive Erion's Spark more easily than other races
- The Shadow Fear - Because they are pure light, darkness is their antithesis
The Luminar's History
The First Dawn
When Anias awakened, her first conscious thought was of children. Light poured from her and coalesced into the first Luminar-beings who opened their eyes already knowing they were loved.
The Golden Age
While Anias lived, the Luminar flourished. They served as her priests, her messengers, her beloved children. The world was young, and light seemed eternal.
The Duskfall
When Nimue murdered Anias, the Luminar experienced a collective trauma unlike anything in mortal history. They didn't just lose a goddess-they felt a piece of themselves die. Many collapsed. Some lost their light entirely.
The Awakening of Erion
When Erion, Anias's son and last of the true gods, awakened to his full power, the Luminar rallied around him. He became their new purpose-not replacing their mother, but continuing her legacy.
The Abyssal Age
Now the Luminar serve as keepers of the Eternal Light, warriors against Marael's darkness, and guardians of hope. They carry their mother's light into a world that desperately needs it.
The Elder Sisters
The Lilin Bond
The Lilin are not fallen Luminar-they are their elder sisters. While Anias slumbered in the void, her peaceful dreams gave rise to the First Forest and the Lilin within it. When Anias awakened and consciously created the Luminar, the Lilin were already ancient.
This makes the Luminar the younger sisters-born from conscious divine will rather than unconscious dreaming. The two races share the same mother but represent different aspects of her love: the Lilin carry her peaceful dreams, while the Luminar carry her intentional radiance.
Culture
The Eternal Vigil
Luminar believe they must keep Anias's memory alive. Every Luminar community maintains a Vigil Flame-a sacred fire that represents their mother's undying light.
The Seraph Council
Ruled by the eldest and wisest Luminar, the council makes decisions through consensus. High Seraph Aurelia currently leads, though she is troubled by doubts she shares with no one.
The Grief That Never Fades
Luminar are immortal. Those who lived during Anias's time still remember her death vividly. This grief shapes their culture-a deep sadness that never fully heals, but which they transform into purpose.
Temples of Light
Luminar live in temples rather than cities. These sacred spaces serve as homes, governments, and places of worship. The greatest is the Cathedral of Light in Arcania City, built where Anias's body dissolved.

Notable Figures
High Seraph Aurelia
Current leader of the Luminar, a being of immense age and wisdom. She remembers Anias's voice. She was there when the goddess died. The weight of leadership during the Abyssal Age is slowly crushing her.
Erion, Last of the Gods
Anias's son, born from her light and Marael's order. Though a god himself, he has deep connection to the Luminar-they are, in a sense, his siblings.
The First Dimmed
The original Luminar to fall to darkness during the Duskfall. Their name is forbidden to speak. Some say they wander still, seeking redemption. Others say they have found peace with their elder sisters in Lythora.
Saint Luminara
A Luminar who sacrificed herself to seal a Void Rift, becoming a permanent beacon of light that still shines today. She is revered by all who fight the darkness.
Lore Connections
The Cathedral of Light
Built where Anias died, this is the holiest site in Arcania. Luminar make pilgrimage here to feel closest to their mother's lingering essence.
The Eternal Light
Though all Clerics can channel it, Luminar feel the Eternal Light most intensely. It is, after all, their mother's distributed essence-they are connecting to family.
Erion's Vanguard
Many Luminar become Paladins. Carrying Erion's Spark feels natural-it's their brother's light, after all, derived from the same source as their own existence.
The Lilin Bond
Luminar and Lilin share the same mother but different origins. The Lilin are elder sisters, born from Anias's dreams before she awakened. The Luminar are younger sisters, created consciously when she woke. Many Luminar make pilgrimages to Lythora to walk where their mother dreamed, to feel closer to the First World that preceded their own creation.
The Fragment's Philosophy
"We are not whole. We never will be. Our mother's death shattered something in the cosmos that cannot be repaired. But broken things can still be beautiful. Broken things can still bring light."
- Meditation of the Vigil
Luminar know they are fragments-pieces of something greater that was lost. This knowledge shapes their worldview. They do not seek to become whole; they seek to ensure their mother's sacrifice was not in vain.
Every act of healing is Anias healing through them. Every enemy destroyed by holy light is Anias's justice. Every moment of compassion is her love, still alive, still shining, refusing to fade even in death.
They are the Fragments of the First Light-broken, grieving, and utterly unbreakable.
